When The Gilded Touch was first shown on a number of magic forums, it raised more than a few eyebrow. In fact, it got immensely positive feedback; magicians were absolutely fascinated and astounded with its incredibly visual nature. It seemed too good to be true.

In the creator's own words:
"I think I might have gone a bit overboard with this manuscript. There is just so much material packed into this that I’m almost ready to delete half of it. The basic secret is exposed in one sentence, which means that it is so simple it’ll make your head spin. You’ll learn how to do the effect using a gimmick or just the setup, both of which are incredibly easy to do. The gimmick materials can be bought for less than $.25, which is more than cheap enough for anyone. The material for setup can be attained for free sometimes, but can also be bought cheaply (around $1). You’ll also learn four different methods for accomplishing one of the key moves to this effect, and that is surely more than you’ll need.

"I’ll provide you with 7 examples of other variations than just Coin Through Light Bulb. You’ll learn Coin Through Plastic Coffee Mug, Coin Through Microwave, Coin Through Full McDonald’s Cup, Coin Through Empty Card Box, Coin Through Shoebox, Coin Through Table, and Coin Through Watch Face. The coin can, of course, be signed in whatever way the spectator chooses. If they want to draw a one-legged Chihuahua smoking a cigar and wearing an eye patch as their signature, then that’s just fine. There are also a good number of my thoughts in here that, when used at the right time, will make this effect even better. I included some key points to the presentation and went into great detail even when talking about how one should hold the coin while causing it to penetrate the object. There are so many different objects (any object at all) that you can make a coin penetrate that it will boggle your mind. Your imagination is the only thing that will hold you back from using this effect to its full potential"
-Chase Hubler

Doppel Ganger is an impromptu coin-thru-bottle effect with NO GIMMICKS. The spectator can see the coin inside the bottle as you violently slam it out, or gently pluck it through, it's your choice! This effect is the perfect companion to The Gilded Touch,

In the creator's own words:
"Essentially, this started out as a bit of a joke. I had seen a similar penetration, but it involved a gimmicked quarter which had to be magically pulled out of the bottle at the end. I thought, 'If I'm pulling the coin out of the bottle prior to examination, what's the sense in using a gimmick?'

"As I said, the handling was initially a joke... until I tried it. Honestly, the reaction surprised me. Rather than laughing, people were absolutely astounded.

"Here I had a completely un-gimmicked and virtually impromptu effect, where the set-up happens directly in front of the spectators and there are practically no angle restrictions."
-Vladimir Shenderovich

You can add this to your arsenal for use anytime, anywhere. Glug down the final contents of your water (or theirs), borrow a quarter, and slam it in the bottle without missing a beat.
